Biografia:
Poche band hanno personificato il puro eccesso degli anni 70 come i Queen. Abbracciando il fasto esagerato del prog rock e dell'heavy metal, nonché della spettacolarità del music hall, il quartetto britannico scavò profondamente nel kitch e nell’ampolloso, creando un suono forte, finto-lirico con strati di chitarre e voci overdub.

La musica dei Queen era una strana ma accessibile fusione di macho e lezioso. Uno dei leader più dinamici e carismatici nella storia del rock, il cantante Freddie Mercury portò uno stravagante senso di effeminatezza alla band, spingendoli verso l'umore kitsch e gli arrangiamenti pseudo-classici, come si può notare dalla loro canzone più conosciuta, "Bohemian Rhapsody."
